Once upon a time, during one of his many travels, a man named Jacques Rocher, the son of Yves Rocher, met Wangari Maathai, a woman who will deeply touch his life and the lives of millions of people. It was during the 90s in Kenya, where she had been fighting against the degradation of the environment, conflicts and poverty for the past 20 years. How? By planting trees with the help of Kenyans who came to give their support.
This incredible woman was the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate in 2004 with more than 30 million trees planted at last count. And well beyond planting seeds to grow trees, she planted them in the hearts of people, which is especially true for Jacques. He created the Yves Rocher Foundation Plant for the Planet program following a tree plantation.
