Depending on your skin type, choose lighter textures for combination to oily skin types. Richer textures are for dry and dehydrated skin. Here are some tips to help you identify your skin type:

• Normal to dry: If your skin is soft and clear, without blemishes, and your complexion is radiant, you have what is called a normal to dry skin type. The best suited Yves Rocher range for this skin type is Hydra Végétal.

• Combination to oily skin: Look at your T-zone: your forehead, nose and chin. If it is shiny, a sign of excess sebum, but your cheeks are dry, your skin type is combination to oily. The Sebo Végétal range is the right one for you.

• Oily skin with blemishes: If your skin texture is dull and uneven, and you have blackheads, you have what is known as oily skin with blemishes. Use the Sebo Végétal range to eliminate excess sebum, which is responsible for these issues.

• Sensitive skin: Do you have dry skin? It peels, feels tight and is irritated? Your skin type is sensitive. To calm sensitive skin, opt for the Sensitive Camomille range.

• Mature skin: If you notice wrinkles, a loss of firmness and sagging skin, your skin type is mature.

Start by cleansing your skin in two steps to take good care of your face.

Step 1: An “oily” cleansing phase to remove makeup, sebum and impurities from your face. To do this, use makeup removing oils or lotions.

Step 2: Cleanse with a gel, solid or foam cleanser to remove any residue.
Then apply your eye contour serum followed by your day or night cream.
Think about using a scrub and mask once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells.

Our face care products are 100% vegetarian and more than 700 of our formulas are vegan, which represents 75% of our products. For the remaining 25%, i.e. when there is no acceptable alternative, we allow ourselves to include certain natural ingredients derived from animal products and whose harvesting does not harm the well-being of the animals. This is the case for natural secretions such as honey or beeswax. These derivatives are used to contribute to the effectiveness and sensoriality of our formulas.

All of our products are safe, without exception. While we always prioritize using naturally-source components in our formulas, it is sometimes necessary to add a percentage of synthetic ingredients such as preservatives, stabilizing agents, texturizing agents, coloring agents or fragrances. These ingredients ensure the effectiveness and safety of all our products, including our face care products.

No. We do not test and never advocate the testing of our face care products on animals, either of our finished products or of the ingredients they contain. We have been involved in this fight from very early on, well before regulations banned it in the early 2000s. In fact as early as 1989, we made the decision to replace these tests with alternative methods, which was a first in the cosmetics industry. This initiative was rewarded in 1992 when we received a Gold Medal from the SPA (Society for the Protection of Animals). In keeping with our commitment, we can also confirm that:

• We have banned the acquisition of raw materials from suppliers when they have been tested on animals for exclusively cosmetic purposes.

• Our internal charter on the components of our products is very strict. We reject any animal raw material. The only exceptions are honey and beeswax, which are natural secretions.

• We encourage the development of research programs on alternative methods to animal testing in order to promote and popularize them.

• We pay particular attention to the animal world in everything we do. For example, all of our industrial sites in Brittany are certified as a sanctuary by the Ligue Protectrice des Oiseaux (LPO) (The Bird Protection League).

Since we were founded in 1959, we have taken a continuous improvement approach and this remains our guiding principle to ensure we can always offer you a range of products based on the expertise of Botanical Beauty® that respects humanity and nature. We don’t claim to be perfect, but we have already made great strides, and often in a pioneering role. For more than 20 years, our shampoos have been formulated to be silicone free and today, all of our cleansing and/or foaming face products continue to undergo strict testing to ensure they are biodegradable before being released to the market. Furthermore, not one of our formulas now contains palm oil. Since 2010, we have chosen to use other vegetable oils provided we reach a satisfactory level of effectiveness and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) impact. Parabens have also been removed from our products since 2020. But that’s not all! Because every little gesture counts, we have removed sulfates from all of our shower gels. In 2023, we will be eliminating them from our shampoos. The examples we’ve provided, including our face and hair care products, are not exhaustive and we intend to carry on along this path.

Our brand’s development grew out of a promise that Mr. Yves Rocher made to bring prosperity to his native village of La Gacilly in Brittany, France, and more widely to the region. And he fulfilled this promise. As botanists, growers, manufacturers and retailers for more than 60 years, we are proud to have remained faithful to our founder’s wishes. The Made in France label is something we care about deeply, and this is why we have always kept our manufacturing plants and most of our production in France. For example, our fields and 3 production sites in Brittany are all located within a 30 km radius. Today, this is a virtuous and positive ecosystem that employs around 10 000 people. 93% of our products, including face care, are now developed in our manufacturing plants in Brittany. For the remaining 7%, we have chosen to subcontract in France and Europe when we do not master the production of the required technology. This means that only 1.2% of our products are developed outside of Europe. Our internal expertise completely guides these decisions and the formulas strictly adhere to our specifications in order to offer you facial care products that are as respectful to your skin as possible.
